Childrens Martial Arts Horsham – Opening Night
Our school in Horsham (West Sussex) is an exciting and friendly environment to come and lose weight, get fit, and learn the valuable personal safety skills for you and your family.
We’ve had such a great response at our Horsham club Head Instructor Ben Gosling is starting Children’s classes on Monday the 2nd of July. These sessions will not only benefit local families and individuals but also has a positive impact on the local community.
Our kids programs not only focus on giving Children the confidence and skills to deal with any possible threat of bullying, but also qualities in key character areas such as discipline, respect, attitude, and a higher sense of self esteem.
Head Instructor Ben has been teaching Children for over 5 years, is fully CRB checked, insured and first aid trained. He has had great success with families not only at his other school in Brighton (that has been established for over 5 years) but also teaching kids classes in Tunbridge Wells.
We are having an Opening Night on Monday 2nd of July where we are inviting all the local Children and families to come and take part in a FREE taster session, so that you can see how much your family can benefit from our classes whilst having plenty of FUN. The free trial will teach our Stranger Danger program and the ABC of personal safety (to build confidence & situation management), and will be full of fun and energy.
To register your space click HERE to contact, and we’ll do the rest.
Please don’t leave you Child’s safety up to chance! Take positive steps with us, and know your family are safe even when they aren’t in your company.

WingTsun Mottos, Theories & Principles
To all Kung Fu South East, WingTsun Lifestyle students and anyone interested in understanding Wing Tsun Kung Fu, here are some of our principles to expand your knowledge and understanding.
WingTsun Definition-
WingTsun is change on the basis of change of the opponent. This is one of the most important mottos in WingTsun.
Definition of WingTsun principles-
1st Principle : If the way is free, advance
2nd Principle : When the way is not free, stick.
3rd Principle : If the force of the opponent is greater, yield.
4th Principle : If the opponent draws back, follow.
Force Definition-
1st Principle : Free yourself of your own force.
2nd Principle : Free yourself from your opponents force.
3rd Principle : Use your opponents force and add yours.
Centreline Theory-
The Centreline is shortest line to the opponent.
WingTsun theory states that the central point is made by the intersection of the vertical and horizontal middle lines of the torso. The imaginary Centreline extents form this point, on which I move my arms and aim them towards the opponent.
Dim Dim Ching-
“Every point clear” is the meaning of this motto.
This means that when executing a form, every movement is clearly recognisable and that there is a pause or a stop between two movements. The form should be trained with the same rhythm from start to finish. You should be like a robot.
Point Theory-
The point theory states, that you could divide all movements into countless many points.
The higher the sub-division the more sensitive one is and able to react to the smallest interruption of movement by the opponent.
Magnetic Zone Theory-
Is defined as the hostile crossing of the imaginary magnetic zone, which surrounds the WingTsun fighter.
The WingTsun fighter sees himself here as the magnet which is attracted to the opponent and storms forward with chain punches to decimate him.

Wing Tsun in the words of the Grandmaster
I have found an excellent article from Grandmaster Kernspecht’s website/blog on understanding WingTsun and Wing Tsun understanding-
What is the ultimate goal of WingTsun? – Part 1
Why do we actually do it: learning the forms, ChiSao, LatSao, handling weapons, getting used to adrenalin effects etc.?
What is the purpose of all this training? Just to kill time?
Multi-facetted WingTsun is without doubt an excellent and even sensible way to pass the time.
70% of the training time is spent in the company of others, allowing physical and verbal communication that enables us to feel we are part of the other person, and we have the same, harmonious effect on him. We are doing something good for the body and mind…..

Grandmaster Seminar in Kent
What an awesome weekend we had when Grandmaster Kernspecht came and held a 2 day seminar in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
Students from all across the South East came to see the latest developments and understanding of the Wing Tsun system from the Grandmaster.
Not only did the Kung Fu seminar fascinate and educate the attendee’s but many students achieved their Technician grades after the Grandmaster had tested them. Congratulations to all who passed
The Wing Tsun system is a highly modern and organic Martial Art that is continually being developed and advanced by the Grandmaster.
Working with principles of the system (go forward, stick to what comes, yield to a greater force, and when the way is free follow) GM Kernspecht showed us his latest techniques to compliment the principles of our Martial Art.
After the seminar we had a few well earn t drinks and celebrated the new Technician grades and the seminar itself.
More seminars coming soon, watch this space ![]()
